WHPE Future Professionals - VP

Good Afternoon Physical Education and Health student members,

My name is Nathali Niedorowski and I am the Vice President of Future Professionals Elect for WHPE. As some of you may know, we have the Wisconsin Health and Physical Education (WHPE) Conference, which is being held in Waukesha this year from October 24 -26 at the Country Springs Hotel. This year we have some exclusive opportunities unique to our President’s organization of this year’s conference. Those highlights can be found by clicking the following picture:

We also have a google drive document for volunteer sign-up to work the Future Professional's booth at the convention. This is a great volunteer opprotunity that you can add to your resume by networking with professionals while helping the Future Professionals. You can sign up to help volunteer by clicking on this link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AvSBVRQpAnA6dGRsZ015SGU4TGptQmx1bmhjUW53RHc Because it is an open edit link, I ask that if someone adds their name do not remove it. However, if there are open spots for assigned schools an you do not attend that university, feel free to add yourself and change the school name.

Information About the Future Professionals Student Election

Every year, there are opportunities for students to become involved with the WHPE board. The positions that we will vote for on Thursday during the Future Professionals lunch will be the Vice President of Future Professionals and a Secretary to assist the vice president. While there will be open nominations on Thursday, if there are any students interested in running for either position, please email me with your Name, the university you are currently attending, your major, and year in school. If more than one student from a given university has expressed interest in running for a single position, I kindly ask if there could be a run-off election at your university so there would be one nominee from your university for each position. This will help keep the length of the elections to a minimum and will help ensure that our Future Professionals lunch will end before the afternoon sessions begin. All nominees must be present at the convention and our Future Professional’s Lunch in order to officially run for the position.

Some of the duties of the Vice President of Future Professionals are as followed:

· Serve two years on the Board, one year as VP elect (you will shadow the current VP of Future Professionals and help the current VP)
· Help acquire donations during the WHPE convention for the Future Professionals raffle
· Help with planning and organizing of the state convention
· Assist in the set-up of the WHPE convention
· Plan the future professionals conference
· Attend the WHPE board meetings and offer input about what is going in the world of Future Professionals
· Be a positive role model for all future professionals

Some of the duties of the Secretary of Future Professionals are as followed:

· Help acquire donations for the Future Professional Conference and Future Professionals’ Raffle
· Write thank-you notes to donors
· Help with planning and organizing the state convention
· Assist the Vice President with duties

I hope this help provide some insight to the leadership positions exclusively offered to us as Future Professionals. If you have any questions related to the Vice President position please feel free to contact me, Nathali Niedorowski, at niedorow.nat@uwlax.edu. If you have any questions about the secretary position feel free to contact our current secretary, Dan Yeager, at yeager.dani@uwlax.edu.

Thank you for the consideration of being involved in our wonderful organization and if you are not registered for the conference, you can do so right here http://www.whpe.us/files/2012preregistration.htm . I look forward to seeing all of you there!
